These volumes are a chronological survey and analysis of the United States foreign policy from the Revolution to the present, written for the undergraduate or graduate student in history or political science. Since decisions do not occur in a vacuum, each event is examined within the context of other events of the time so students grasp the complexities involved in decision making. This is an objective account reflecting multicultural and multiarchival research, not a revisionist or determinist account.
