Foundations of African-American Education

This book presents a collection of essays about African- American educational heritage. It is designed to introduce the reader to the discipline of African-American education. The chapters combine selections from important documents with readable, up-to-date discussion of their place in the history of educational thought and their bearing on recent theory and practice. Some of the selections are reprints of publications that have significantly affected contemporary historical interpretation.
