Dr. Forrest C. Shaklee Sr. was born in 1894 in Carlisle, Iowa. He founded Shaklee Products in 1956 with his sons Forest, Jr. and Raleigh Shaklee to produce and sell nutritional supplements. After WWII, the typical views on health changed from treating and curing illness to maintaining health. This is the atmosphere in which Dr. Shaklee began to succeed in his company.
