Description:

Physics Problems presents a brief summary of the topics usually covered in a first-year course, giving special attention to definitions, defining equations, and formulas. These are illustrated by sample problems worked out in detail, following a procedure based upon logical approach and careful analysis. Lists of problems to be solved by the student are introduced at suitable intervals and answers to all problems are provided in an appendix. In this second edition, increased emphasis is placed on the use of mks units, but not to the exclusion of cgs and British engineering units. The calculus terminology has been introduced in a few places because of its increased use in modern general physics texts. The most comprehensive revisions, however, are in the section on electricity and magnetism: magnetism is approached from the concept of moving electric charge rather than that of the magnetic pole, and there is a modern treatment of magnetic fields and the magnetic effects of current.
