The Feminist Companion to Mythology

This is a feminist guide to the myths, gods and goddesses of mythology. The book is not, in itself, about feminine mythology but contributors narrate the major myths involving women and explore their meanings from a feminist perspective. The book is organized by culture ranging from Europe, the Middle East, India, the Far East, North and South America to Australia and New Zealand - each section outlining the mythological system of that culture, naming the important figures and more minor figures and discussing their meanings for women then, in the past and now.
