G.M.Trevelyan, as well as being a best-selling historian, was Regius Professor of History and Master of Trinity College Cambridge and Chancellor of the University of Newcastle. He was awarded the Order of Merit and was offered, but refused, the Presidency of the British Academy. This book provides a study of the man and an account of his generation.
