Rehabilitation of the severely resorbed maxilla using an implant-anchored prosthesis presents a complex challenge to the oral and maxillofacial surgeon. Particularly in the maxilla, loss of alveolar bone height and buccolabial bone width, often combined with a reduction in bone density, severely compromises its retention capacity. This book reports the authors' 15-year experiences with autogenous onlay bone grafting and simultaneous endosseous implant placement in the reconstruction of the edentulous atrophic maxilla. From these references over sixty pedigrees were produced of which thirty two are covered in this volume. Each chapter deals with one pedigree and each person within the pedigree has an individual article devoted to them.
