<p>The forerunner of this modest selection tool, published in 1973 was designed for use in small and medium sized libraries in Ontario and for that reason limited to the 15 languages most in demand there. This 3rd edition has been conceived on a more ambitious scale. It was intended to include all languages spoken in Canada, and possibly all those spoken in the United States. Under each language both selection aides and suppliers are arranged alphabetically, subdivided under appropriate headings when warranted.</p>
