The data have a wide application, including space heating, spacecraft heat exchangers, aircraft heat exchangers, and cooling systems of all kinds. Besides the basic experimental heat transfer and flow friction data, Compact Heat Exchangers contains chapters on heat exchanger analysis and design and auxiliary topics.

The 4th edition of "CHMT" continues the trend, initiated with the 3rd edition, of encouraging the use of a numerically based, computational approach to solving convective heat and mass transfer problems. The book also continues its tradition of also providing classic problem solving approaches to this subject.
