Esta obra fue incluida, desde 1561, tras el cuarto libro de la Diana de Jorge de Montemayor. Adem s Lope de Vega compuso sobre el tema su comedia El remedio en la desdicha. This story tells how a Muslim, prisoner of the king Cristiano Rodrigo de Narvaez, recovers his freedom, after fullfilling his word to return to prison, then he celebrates his wedding with his beloved Jarifa. This work was included, since 1561, after the fourth book of Diana de Jorge de Montemayor. Also Lope de Vega composed about his theme for his comedy El remedio en la desdicha.
