<p>As a child of mixed blood Native American parents I happily roamed the longleaf forest and creek swamps near my home in South Mississippi. My aging Granny, who was born in 1885, told me stories of our ancestors. All eight of my great-grandparents were part Indian from various Southern tribes, their spirits seem to whisper through my genetics. I never thought about writing until I felt compelled to write for my grandchildren. As I began, Granny visited me in my dreams and retold stories and encouraged me to write the legends down so they would not be lost. The Indian legends and my stories were like my blood, so mixed I found it impossible to separate them. This easy to read book is filled with Indian legends, history, humor, mystery and quest. The stories set forth good moral values but are suitable for readers regardless of age or gender.
