Most fishermen use a boat to fish because the fish are out there, in the deep water. But, Cai doesn't have a boat. He s not even a fisherman, but a fisherboy. Cai finds a rock in the Miluo river and tries his luck there, until the grown-up fishermen tell him to move on. Now what is he to do? It turns out there is more than fish in the river. A dragon lives there, too. When Cai accidentally nets the dragon, surprising things are bound to happen. Thomas Allen uses the Chinese legends of water dragons to show us the wonder and trust of children everywhere.
