Child Labour in a Third World Urban Situation is based on authors decade-long fieldwork in Kolkata and contains ethnographic details on the child labour situation in Kolkata. The study was done in the backdrop of globalisation in India which made huge proportion of population marginalised during the last two decades. This work revealed that a strong correlation could be found between the child labour problem and marginalisation of population in the urban areas in the Third World.
