"Third Dimension" is an intermediate level course for adults and young adult learners of English. It uses a variety of topics, characters and situations to stimulate students' interest and to give them the means to talk and write about themselves. This text can be used as a free-standing book or as a course leading directly into "Fourth Dimension". Together, "Third" and "Fourth Dimension" take students up to a level equivalent to the Cambridge First Certificate. This coursebook contains 16 units covering topics such as relationships, changing ways of life, jobs, the future etc. The units provide practice of grammatical structures in communicative contexts, offer creative "freestyle" sections and cover the skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking, with extra emphasis on stress and pronunciation. There is also an additional grammar reference section at the back of the book.

"American Dimensions Advanced" is a revised, American version of the British English "Fourth Dimension". As with "American Dimensions Intermediate", this version has ten units. Each unit consists of at least two reading sections, two language study sections, and a writing section. Listening and discussion exercises accompany most of the reading and writing sections to improve students' communication skills. Language summaries follow every two units, so students can review as they progress through the book. It aims to balance fluency and accuracy work across the four skills and emphasizes vocabulary and pronunciation development. "American Dimensions Advanced" combines Robert O'Neill's humanistic approach to English language teaching, with a thorough coverage of grammar. Topics, characters, and situations are designed to stimulate adult learners to express themselves creatively and with confidence. Each unit provides a variety of texts, exercises, and activities to develop fluency across the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. The main emphasis is on having the students interact with each other to develop their ability to discuss their opinions clearly.  The course offers useful sentence structures and vocabulary which enable students to express themselves more accurately and fluently. It should help students to explore the richness of expression at this level, and to learn how to make appropriate use of it.
