The introductory sections describe literary & musical characteristics & give facts on the musical folk drama of the Southwest, going into rich detail on the 15 songs included in the book.Seven of the songs are from the Los Griegos version of the famous Christmas cycle Los Pastores (the shepherds).  The secular songs range from haunting laments for unrequited love & death to a rollicking corridor about an old model T Ford.
