Photographer and documentarian Ian Reid was born and raised in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. In 2018 he set out to photograph 23 public housing developments in Brooklyn from above. His goal was to preserve the architecture and to present the structures without any preconceived notions of what goes on within. The images are framed by the streets they are defined by, often showing how they look with the changing seasons. Gentrification and development have changed the surroundings of the public housing, but the buildings and its residents for the most part stay the same. Complex Geometry respects the true residents of Brooklyn and pays homage to where Reid grew up and still spends a great deal of his time.

Frances, a New Zealand woman, is laid to rest in an unmarked grave in Jamaica in 1892. Her enigmatic husband, the Reverend William Hammond, cannot be found. Frances is not Reverend Hammond's first wife, and his movements have always been elusive. It is a lyrical, mature, and interesting story about a confidence trickster in the late 19th/early 20th century, set as a travelogue of escape through Melbourne, Canada, Japan, the US, and through to New Zealand. There is a substratum of fact to The End of Longing. A couple bearing the same names as the two main characters did travel to the places described in this novel at the times indicated, and had some similar experiences. Indeed, the main female character is based on author Ian Reid's distant relative.
