In the West of Ireland, young Séamus Moran finds himself in peril when through a misunderstanding he gets on the wrong side of one of the Pooka - ancient people from Irish mythology. Despite terrifying poor Séamus and his family, the Pookie only wants help to return to the Otherworld.  Séamus agrees, eager to visit Tir na Óg, the Land of Youth, believing Johnny the Pookie as he calls him, when he says that Séamus will easily be able to return home again. But Pookies cannot always be trusted.  Once in the Otherworld, the point of return is some distance away and if that wasn’t enough cause for concern, Séamus then finds himself thrown into an adventure to rid Dragonsrealm of the mighty Ice Giant, Lokil. To make matters worse, the Dark Druid, Wolfspell, also stands in the way, and despite finding he has new abilities in the Otherworld as those from their world had in ours, Séamus begins to fear that he may never get home at all.  The book is set against the background of rural County Mayo and Celtic mythology. Powerful magic potions mix with a cocktail of bizarre creatures and gallant knights in this fantasy adventure.
