The scene is a two-couple dinner that begins weirdly and grows more bizarre from there. As the play opens, Pam (Emily Dahlke) and Richard (Joseph W. Rodriguez) are preparing to host their old friends Wendy (Megan O'Leary) and Tom (John Russell), an annual ritual that Richard, who fancies himself a master chef, takes especially seriously. How seriously? Just before their guests arrive, he and his wife are killing a lamb in their urban apartment, because fresh meat is best.The friends call themselves the Fab Four, and their roots go back to high school, a time in which Pam, at least, has invested way too much. Now they're in their mid-30s and facing typical mid-30s angst about the possibility of children and the slow creep of time and aging.
