While not claiming to offer an exhaustive inventory of the multiple associations, dependencies, osmoses or fusions between these three objects or spheres of research - which in themselves should be the subject of a broader exploration of space and time - this compendium of texts strives to examine the highlights, core aspects and durable structures on which they to some extent directly rely.What is this work's main theme? It is that at the heart of the real, symbolic, or even imaginary relations established between the human body and space, whether the latter is materially constructed through architecture or depicted in frescos or paintings, there is indeed a powerful movement initiated by the human body which gives rise to thought based on speculative intuition, anticipation and even the construction model itself.This book's various chapters advocate the crystallization of a corporal symbolism of architecture, an unveiling of the projection of the human body - parts thereof, or as a whole - in architecture or even in the city, the refraction of architecture in the body and lastly on the development of the city perceived as a single gigantic body. The book attempts to demonstrate that the body's organisation, through its dynamic and general movement in Western society, impacts the structure of architecture as much as the latter structures the body, to the point of forming an amalgam, or even a fusion, of the two.
