<p>Cai Guo-Qiang is one of the most important Chinese artists to have emerged internationally in the 1990s. Best known for his spectacular firework projects at locations ranging from museum entrances to the sites of land art works such as Robert Smithson's Sprial Jetty, Cai has explored a diversity of media and artforms. These have included works such as an extension to the Great Wall of China, designed to be seen from outer space by extraterrestrial beings; feng shui arrangements of private living spaces both in Japn and New York; participatory projects with kites, jacuzzis and mini golf courses, and sculptures constructed from melted-down cars or abandoned boats. His projects are strongly influenced by their location and the works are frequently altered or developed as they are exhibited at new sites. Unifying Cai's wide-ranging work is his consistent investigation of humanity's place within the universe.</p>

Born in Cairo in 1972, Nabil took his first portraits of friends after he finished studying literature in the early 1990s. He soon moved to New York and Paris, where he worked as an assistant to photographers David LaChapelle and Mario Testino. Nabil's photographs--hand-colored in the old tradition--reflect a preoccupation with loneliness, sexuality and death, though these themes are tempered by a visual language that betrays a nostalgic longing for the glamour, elegance and drama of the Golden Age of Hollywood. This monograph, Nabil's first, is a comprehensive collection of photographs of celebrities and friends, self-portraits and staged images from the past 15 years.</p>

The exhibition It Will All End In Tears, the first individual show dedicated to the artist Jesper Just (Copenhagen, 1974) in Spain, takes its title from one of the five films chosen by the curator Octavio Zaya, which together with Bliss and Heaven, Some Draughty Window, Something to Love and A Vicious Undertow completes the show and explores the main themes treated by Jesper Just: gender as a social and cultural construct rather than biological, and the generation gap, specifically centred on the father-son relationship.
