You will be aware then of his enthusiasm for and great efforts to bring and introduce the shells from Vietnam to the attention of shell collectors and shell professional workers around the world. This book is easily his best one to date. Even if you already own one or more of his earlier books, you will probably find the new material covered in this book worth having. I have been told by Dr. Thach that this book was done as a limited printing of only 150 copies. That small number I suspect will soon be exhausted and I don't know if it will be reprinted once the initial printing sells out. If you want a copy of this book I suggest that you order it quickly.

This is Dr. Thach's eighth book on mollusks and in it he introduces 116 newly described species and subspecies of marine. terrestrial and freshwater mollusks. Among these are 94 land snails, 12 marine mollusks and 10 freshwater shells. These shells have been collected from 11 countries, mainly in Asia and from one country in Africa. The book also contains two lists of shells that have been described by the author in the past. One list is of those accepted into the database of mollusks and the other, those that have been rejected as synonyms. As with Thach's other books, the descriptions are detailed and the photographs of the shells is clear and sharp.</p>
