As the day ends, Big Daddy and all his new friends gather on the beach to watch the sun set on the horizon.\nMeeting new friends in every community is a learning experience that enables readers to see how each animal lives peacefully among the residents of the island. Mary Jacobs instills in the reader the beauty of nature, as well as the importance of kindness and friendship to both humans and animals. Her list of facts at the back of the book provides children with a desire to learn more about the life and habitat of the animal kingdom.</p>
