The Korean-born artist Nam June Paik (1932–2006) was instrumental in the development of this revolutionary and controversial art form, devoting himself as early as the 1960s, as a member of the radical Fluxus movement, to exploring its interdisciplinary potential and, in so doing, reshaping our understanding of the moving image in contemporary art. This compelling collection of essays and video material explores Paik’s remarkable life and work, with contributions from friends, students and fellow artists.
