Jefferson learned how to make time for his writing even as he worked as a General Contractor for 30 years. He was also a disabled van driver for his good friend Vince Staskel. Jefferson Murphy is a former combat Medic, an ambulance driver, and teacher of English to 60 refugee children at Cao Xai Catholic School in Tay Ninh Province, in the Former Republic of South Viet Nam. 1969-1970. Jefferson produced the Sal Mancuso Memorial Concert and Scholarship Fund, with the assistance of the Ossining Board of Education in 1989. For the past five years Jefferson has played his songs at Open Mic Night at clubs such as The Town Crier in Beacon N.Y., The Derby in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Hosanna Korean-American, Christian Church, Highland N.Y. and The (Famous) Falcon in Marlboro N.Y., Café Lena in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Eleven years ago Jefferson started his street ministry: Jefferson Murphy's Latter Day Ministry(R) it is a non-denominational ministry and is to everyone everywhere all the time. He also attends 6 different churches in Wendell, N.C. and 6 different churches in Milton, N.Y. Jefferson has three adult sons and an adult daughter, five grand-sons, and five grand-daughters. He gives all credit to Almighty God for every blessing he has been given, and amidst the turmoil in the streets today proclaims: A.L.M. meaning ALL LIFE MATTERS!
