Mechanics of human movement is the study of the internal and external forces that act on the body and the effects of these forces on the movement of the body. The ability to analyse movement mechanically is an essential requirement for everybody involved in teaching and coaching physical skills and in prescribing physical rehabilitation exercises. The purpose of this book is to explain the fundamental mechanical concepts and principles which underlie the ability to analyse movement mechanically. All the concepts and principles are clearly explained and many well-illustrated examples from a range of physical activities are given in order to show their practical relevance.
