Part one covers the period following Vatican II up to the present (including some statistics that are projected to 2050), and surveys the seemingly insurmountable issues and challenges that face the Catholic Church in the twenty-first century. Part two summarizes the issues facing each individual Catholic, and points out the basic aspects of faith that endure. This second part is encouraging, giving hope through its suggestions on how to remain faithful even through the challenges.
