As Western troops withdraw from Afghanistan, the Afghan National Army (ANA) has been tasked with securing the country. Having broken the system that was in place, the US and NATO are now leaving Afghanistan to face Taliban elements, criminal warlords, and private militias which disrupt any efforts to pull the nation together. 
 Yet the ANA arose under foreign tutelage and will remain dependent upon foreign support for the foreseeable future. Thus it can only be seen by the majority of Afghans as a legacy of the occupation and not a 'national' institution. The ANA is shrinking by the day.

The army has failed to develop a true ethnic representation process or motivate Baloch and Sindhis to join the armed forces; but they certainly have gained experience in killing innocent civilians. Then there is the question of the Saudi investment in Pakistan's "Islamic" nuclear bomb. Saudi Arabia's link with Pakistan's nuclear and missile program has long been the source of speculation that Pakistan might either station nuclear forces on Saudi sand or provide a nuclear umbrella to the Wahabi state, in return for oil supply; or that the Saudis would purchase nuclear weapons from Pakistan. WikiLeaks recently released a cable from Afghanistan revealing US government contractor DynCorp’s involvement in the boy play business. DynCorp is a company of private militia training Afghan police force. According to recent reports, more than 95 percent budget of the militia comes from the US and part of that is being spent on child abuse parties and sex trafficking in northern Afghanistan. To meet the sexual needs of Afghan police officers, in December 2010, as WikiLeaks cable reported, DynCorp purchased many young boys for Afghan policemen.
