Sam O'Hara has recently retired from the NYPD. Lacy Kilbourne, rich, beautiful, and fearing for her life, hires Sam at the suggestion of Arthur Cummings, a police commissioner. When Lacy must fly to Paris, she and Sam find her European partner, Beth Conlin, murdered in Lacy's Paris mansion. The French police take their passports and tell them to remain nearby. When the police leave, Lacy insists they drive to Zurich where she mysteriously disappears and Sam's life turns into a nightmare. He's now a fugitive without a passport. He becomes a suspect in the murder and finds himself caught between European and American authorities and a Colombian drug cartel. He has to get back on his own turf. He has to find some answers, and it all leads back to New York.
