A master of watercolor technique, Timothy J. Clark (b. 1951) imbues his paintings with an unmistakable sense of place, conveying the very essence of each of his subjects. Timothy J. Clark is the first book to trace the stages of the artist's career, setting his work within the context of contemporary American art. Clark's watercolor and oil paintings of sacred and domestic spaces, his still lifes, portraits, and landscapes, can seem to belong to an earlier, classic school of painting, but as art historian Lisa E.
