The lens will provide students with the necessary foundation needed to guide them through the model.&nbsp; As students continue to progress through the text, they are encouraged to keep it in mind during discussions, assignments, and presentations.&nbsp; Diversity of Perspectives&nbsp;also becomes common language used by students when connecting theory to practical application. Students learn that the ability to communicate with others who have individual values, assumptions, beliefs, and expectations that may or may not be different from their own is crucial in the ever-growing global market.&nbsp; The vision and mission of an organization is not different for some employees.&nbsp; It is the intended purpose for which all are employed.&nbsp; Diversity exists in the workplace beyond federal protected classifications of race, gender, ethnicity, color of skin, religion, sexual orientation, disability, etc.&nbsp; Individual values, assumptions, beliefs, and expectations also exist and contribute to organizational results.&nbsp; The ability to effectively communicate that diversity is personal, global, and a behavioral choice that directly connects to delivering products and services to customers is added value to any organization.
