I was thus able to devote myself wholly to my ruling passion - the pursuit of big game; - and I had the good fortune to be able to collect for the Paris Museum specimens of large fauna, having on this occasion, as on previous occasions, shot many animals. Naturally, my occupation was not exempt from danger.
