In 2007, the Southwest Journal began publishing a quarterly spread of poems - the Southwest Journal Poetry Project. The feature has attracted over 1000 submissions from nearly 250 poets. We've published - in print and online - the best of these, along with illustrations by an artist who signs his name WASCO."Seasons" collects the best of the best of the first three years of the Poetry Project. Here are poems set in Minnesota's four seasons, love poems for all seasons, poems about children, whimsical notions, unusual characters, and the transitions we experience as we travel life's pathways. These are the thoughts (and images) of people who live in and around the lakes and neighborhoods of southwest Minneapolis.Everyone who enjoys this beautiful city - and anyone who likes good poetry - will find kindred spirits in this collection.
