This short autobiography tells the life story of Dean Davis, a true child of the 60's. Like many in his generation, Dean abandoned the Judeo-Christian tradition and sought for spiritual reality in Philosophy and Eastern religion, especially Zen Buddhism. His book focuses on a difficult four year period (1970-1974) during which his quest reached a fever pitch. Paradoxically, it was a season of great pain, but also of unexpected blessing. Dean has written about it in hopes of encouraging seekers everywhere; in hopes that their furnace, like his, may one day prove to be a furnace for gold.

O Little snail- Inch by inch Climb Mt. Fuji -Issa Issa and his little snail speak richly to us all.
