Originally published in 1895. PREFACE: The present manual has been written with the view of supplying the student of Comparative Anatomy and Osteology, with a concise and accurate account of the structure of a Mammalian skull. For this purpose, that of a dog has been chosen, it being now largely used for general teaching purposes; and it has also the advantage of being easily procurable in both adult and young stages. A short glossary of osteological terms has been appended, which it is hoped will add to the usefulness of the work...... This early works contains much information that is still useful and practical today and will appeal greatly to any one interested in the anatomy of mammals. Many of the earliest books, particularly those dating back to the 1900's and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive. We are republishing these classic works in affordable, high quality, modern editions, using the original text and artwork.
