Colin Albert Perry was born in 1922, in Camberwell.  At fourteen, he left school to start work as an office boy with a paper merchant, for fourteen shillings a week.  In June 1940, he decided to start a diary, ending in November when he joined the Merchant Navy as a ship's writer.  This is Colin's diary, published just as he wrote it.  Revealing the psychology of adolescence in unforgettable times, these are the youthful, untrained outpourings of a proud and totally insignificant Londoner.  BOY IN THE BLITZ is an amazingly insightful account of both the traumatic experiences and the everyday happenings of an eighteen-year-old in the 1940s.
