<p>This is a biography of a classic Christian educator who chose to render service in what some who consider an obscure place, Dermott, Arkansas. Burdened with overwhelming circumstances, Dr. York Wayland Williams sought to carry on a historic tradition, Morris-Booker College. Being an alumnus of the school, as well as Samuel L. Koontz, who became a physician who performed the first kidney transplant, Dr. Williams attempted to keep the school open so it could produce other outstanding scholars and citizens though they came from the poverty stricken delta area of Southeast Arkansas.</p>
