Water swirled violently above her head as the waves swept her out further into the dark, edgeless ocean.  Twenty-one year old Lorri Allen was lost at sea and drowning.  Or at least that’s how she felt.   When Lorri visualized her future, she always imagined marrying her boyfriend Scott and raising a family together in their small mid-western hometown, Elk Prairie.  After their heartbreaking split, Lorri realized her life was way off course.  It was time to start all over again.  Time to return to shore.  The sunny shore of Southern California - home to Lorri’s aunt and uncle, her favorite cousin, and her uncle’s best friend Drake Roberts.   Leaving Elk Prairie was not easy, but Lorri loved reconnecting with all the fond memories of her family and her teenage crush on Drake.  She learned right away that despite their 22 year age difference, heartache was a common bond between her and Drake. His 14-year marriage had just ended and he’d been reduced to no more than a part-time fixture in his two young sons’ lives.  Lorri needed help rediscovering herself and the inspiring energy she lost in her last relationship.  Drake wanted to learn how to trust and have faith in love again.  They were both adrift in the same merciless waters and when they reached up from beneath the cruel, thrashing waves they found each other.  Amidst growing concerns from her over-protective uncle, Lorri’s teenage crush evolved into friendship and cast a warm light into their dark, lonely hearts.  Will friendship be enough?  Will Drake and Lorri follow the gentle tide to shore or will foolish desire leave them adrift in those treacherous, unchartered waters?
