Comment: I purchased my books from Amazon and after the semester was over received a pretty decent quote from booksrun and sent my books to them. Only to have my order put on hold. It's now been almost 3 weeks since and haven't heard from the company about my order
Comment: My first ever experience selling a book to BooksRun was great. I'M GLAD I IGNORED THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. The whole process was very easy. I was paid the exact amount I was quoted for my "Very Good" condition book, and the check was delivered to my mailbox much faster than I expected. As for the negative reviews about being forced to buy insurance, I have no idea what they are talking about. I simply chose not to insure my book by clicking the appropriate box. I would not hesitate one bit to sell to BooksRun again.
Comment: Very simple and straight forward from start to finish. They have a very fast turn around from when you send them your books and when you receive payment. BooksRun does a tremendous job. There are simple, clear instructions and guidelines on their website. This is a fair and honest company despite some negative reviews you may have read. I am very grateful for BooksRun for both purchasing books and selling them. Thank you very much! 😊
Comment: Booksrun adheres to very misleading condition standards. I would recommend prioritizing certain other vendors, e.g Textbook Maniac, if you are not sure about your book's condition. When selling a book online, the payment difference between a "Very Good" book and an "Acceptable" book is 20%. However, if you send it in, Booksrun may arbitrarily decide to recategorize it book from "Very Good" to "Acceptable" after evaluating it on arrival, and lower the payment by 60%! How is this fair? Is this not classic "bait and switch," especially since it is not practical to get the book back from Booksrun given the extremely high shipping cost? In the case of a particular book, it was only the dust jacket that was damaged. Nowhere on the Terms and Conditions does it say that a book in "Very Good" condition must include the dust jacket. Indeed, I have had books accepted by Booksrun after evaluated as "Good" or "Very Good" that did not include the original dust jacket. In this case, the book included the just jacked with a tear, but was recategorized as "Acceptable" at a 60%v loss. My attempt to appeal was finally answered by AI after about three weeks. I cannot recommend Booksrun at this stage.
Comment: Bookscounter better post this. This place was OK before if you have no other choices but 2025 scamming company. Again, taken my book and giving this message again - The item has signs of being a counterfeit copy. Return of this book is not possible. Even if you have NO CHOICES not many good vendors out there, I will rather donate or trash. This is not the place for your good books.
Comment: I don't like being charged for insurance without having the option and having it deducted from my account. I also wish I was paid more for my books.
Comment: Used to get more of a higher bid on books. Most of my books are new. This has been a drastic change since last year. There’s no way to save a bid until you have a minimum order of $10. Bids are reduced within 30 minutes and more books need to be added. Other book companies allow you to save bids at least 24 hours. I will take less money in a bid from another company because I can save it, instead of this company’s bid. Used to be a better company, I suspect bankruptcy?
Comment: I have used them many times over a long period of time and normally with good results. I will still give them 5 stars, but in the last couple of months I have had a little difficulty, so I am a little guarded right now.
Comment: Did a couple of transactions with them last year that went good but did one with them this month that was horrible. They received my books but didn't start processing them til a week later and then they kept dropping the price after I agreed to the initial adjustment. Then it took another week to do the processing and 5 days to send a payment to my PayPal. Maybe they're going bankrupt and needed to stall. I don't know why the transaction was so terrible. I'm reluctant to use them again when they were my top 3 in the past.
Comment: Very fast, easy, quick turn around. This service helps me tremendously.
