Hreinn Fridfinnsson - First House Second House Third House (English and Icelandic Edition)

Published in conjunction with the exhibition House at Hafnarborg, the Hafnarfjordur Centre of Culture and Fine Art, this catalogue includes both new and older work by the Icelandic artist Hrein Friðfinnsson. The series First House, Second House and Third House, some of his best-known works, are shown here together for the first time. Each plays with the notions of inside/outside and enclosed/exposed. Starting from the concept of an inside out house, the works can be said to include the entire universe within but also to simultaneously shut it out. Mirroring each other, each series creates a unique dynamic when juxtaposed with the others.
