Chinese for Youth: Character Book

This comprehensive language series is a basic Mandarin Chinese language program designed for young adults (aged 12-16) with or without a Chinese background. The materials are presented in cultural contexts, allowing students to learn Chinese in a meaningful, communicative way. Each lesson teaches new vocabulary, new sentence structures, and common Chinese expressions. Students can practice speaking Chinese with each lesson's daily conversation. Chinese characters are introduced alongside Pinyin pronunciations and English explanations, and students can practice writing the characters in a workbook and are taught to build these characters into phrases.
