In Five Years: A Novel

Where do you see yourself in five years? When Type-A Manhattan corporate lawyer Dannie Cohan is asked this quintessential question at the most important interview of her career, she has a meticulously crafted answer at the ready. And when, after nailing her interview, she accepts her boyfriend's marriage proposal, Dannie knows she is right on track to achieve her five year plan. It felt like more than merely a dream, but she isn't the kind of hippie who believes in visions. That kind of nonsense is only charming coming from true free-spirited bohemian types, like her lifelong best friend, Bella. So Dannie files the whole incident away at the very back of her brain. That is, until four-and-a-half years later, on the summer evening she and her still-fianc� David meet Bella and Bella's new boyfriend for dinner. And who does the boyfriend turn out to be, but the very same man from Dannie's vision. In Five Years is a propulsive love story, brimming with joy and heartbreak. But it is definitely not the love story you're expecting.
