What should have been a simple school trip to Tataratus veers off path when Kazu meets an ambitious shape-shifting tanuki, Kaiko, whose dream is to become a revered artisan. With her sights set on being an apprentice at the forge that Hitomi's grandpa runs, Kaiko sticks close to Kazu and his friends to prove her worthiness, but she accidentally entangles them in another melee with the Scarlet Crown!
