I'm the Night King! (Humans and Nature)

This story is about the smallest bat in a colony, who was always bullied by the other bats in the cave. He was bullied because he was a different species of bat than the other bats. He was a fruit-eating bat, and only ever ate fruit and nectar. The other bats were insect-eating bats and always mocked him. One day, the smallest bat decided to go outside during the daytime. Unexpectedly, he got into a lot of trouble. But he didn’t give up, and he tried to earn respect in the woods. Everyone called him “The Night King.” This story is inspired by two different species of bats: insect-eating bats and fruit-eating bats. This book helps children identify different species of bat by reading an interesting story. Children will learn what the differences are between the two species of bat and how the two species bats help us to protect our environment. This book will nurture children's interest in science of nature.
