Conviction: The Journey of a Lost Principled Man

25-year old DAVID FREEMAN, a successful regional sales rep, has climbed the ladder of success, using well intentioned principles, only to find that his life has become routine and boring. Enter auburn-haired JOANI GIVENS, stuck in a dead-end waitress job at a sleazy bar and rooming with SNAKE, a manipulative drug dealer who uses everything and everyone for his own benefit. David helps Joani escape to her aunt and uncle's farm. He is invigorated by the adventure and drawn to Joani's free spirit. She's grateful for his help, but also flirts with him. These opposites are being drawn together. It's "crazy," but not "boring." However, the romance fades when Joani's alcohol demons surface and David is unable to handle her emotional baggage. David's parents, JACK and SYLVIA, counsel him not to abandon this challenge so soon. They encourage him to "pray about it." David does, and God answers, leading him on a harrowing journey through vastly unfamiliar territory to discover that living by man-made principles is admirable, but living by God-inspired convictions is the still more excellent way. In a climactic confrontation with Snake, Joani and David together rise above their daunting obstacles and emerge victorious in the struggle of good vs. evil. The future looks promising for David and Joani. Romance is finally possible. A "first kiss" leads to a happy ending that begs for a sequel.
