Description:

This is a book about money concepts that matter! Only a handful of people around the world realize that, if a money system is "fair," it enables society to function with ease, with safety, with relative prosperity, with a low crime rate, with a low divorce rate, with less immorality in politics and more.

And if a money system is unfair, the reverse takes place, and we get soaring crime and divorce. Money creates attitudes of good or bad, strong or weak morality through its soundness.

It's not necessary that I agree with every thought that author Howard Katz has written herein. Indeed all those who write introductions to books will surely feel the same‒that in some cases they may even disagree violently here and there. But, especially in economics, which is a non-science, there is room for differing opinion even among those who basically stand together.

And I do stand together with Howard Katz, whose grasp of money is remarkable and his courage admirable. He's a "patriot" in the best sense, not for a flag (I don't think) but for his fellow man. He wants them to get a fair shake.

It's a crime of the highest order that the cause for sound money has been taken over by the wrong crowd. Or, the other way to say it is that the people who have most to gain from such things as gold backing and convertible currency and disciplinary money systems are the ones who fight it or ignore and consider it trivial or old fashioned. Those who have least to gain from it (relatively) are the biggest boosters of such fundamentals. It used to be the other way round, back in the days of the U.S. as a young country. Politics got it twisted.
