The 6th edition of the Hidden Places of the Lake District and Cumbria and has been completely redesigned to include a new cover and new page layouts. The book is printed in full colour and includes detailed directional maps, eye catching photographs and is packed with places to eat, drink and stay.
The Lake District is most famous for its impressive mountain scenery but also encompasses green rolling hills, fast flowing rivers, deep lush forests and of course the enchanting and languid lakes. The delightful county of Cumbria in which the Lakes reside is England’s second largest county, but surprisingly has a relatively small population of only 490,000 people which is only slightly more numerous than the city of Leeds. Apart from the Lake District, Cumbria offers the visitor gentle moorland, craggy coastal headlands, scattered woodlands and a fascinating history and cultural heritage.

The Author Peter Long is an Oxford Classics graduate who dabbled briefly in financial planning before deciding that words are more appealing than numbers.
