Certainty of Bible Prophecy

The world was angered by the brutal takeover of Kuwait by Iraq. As operation Desert Sheild bacame formalized, even more amazing was the distinct, clear fulfillment of prophecies foretold by the ancient prophet Jeremiah in chapters 50 and 51 concerning the eventual destruction of Iraq for its actions. Is the invasion of Iraq out of the north, the many nations from the northern hemisphere which make up the allied forces of Operation Desert Storm (50:41; 51:1-3)? Was the great destruction of Bagdad described by the ancient prophets (50:22-26; 39 and 40)? Even more important, is the ceasefire described as the "little while" (51:31) before Israel enters the conflict (51:20) with even more devastating fighting to occur? The certainty of these ancient prophecies are viewed against the incredible predictions made about the ancient civilizations of Noah's day (Gen 6:3) and the destruction of the famous city of Tyre described so vividly in Ezekial 26. The validity of the Bible and the promises of God which were made hundreds of years ago are seen against the scenario of events taking place in the 1990s and point the way to future events that lie just ahead for people alive on planet today.
