As well as presenting the museum's extensive collections of Swedish art, including works by important figures from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, such as Carl Gustaf Pilo and Carl Larsson, this book includes several other fields of international interest. The chapter on Dutch seventeenth-century painting presents works by Rembrandt, in particular The Oath of the Batavians to Claudius Civilis.
