This work discusses concepts and ideas regarding innate and acquired immunity, imucosal immune systems, T-cell and B-cell activation, maturation and development, role of T-cell receptor and class I MHC, kidney damage in auto-immune disease, and factors involved in rheumatoid arthritis. Other topics covered include the mechanisms involved in auto-immune disease based on clinical findings, immune response to diseases, and strategies in production of new vaccines against pathogens. Recently proposed concepts on immune tolerance, T-cell energy, NK-cell tolerance, HLA delivered peptides for immunosuppression and the newly discovered oncogens, tumour, antigens, and immune therapy strategy for tumours are also included.
