Holistic fire strategies: The search for a global methodology

This book explores the concept of holistic fire strategies - an idea developed by the author to provide a more inclusive and global approach to fire safety engineering and the preparation of fire strategies. The book moves forward from his previous book "Fire strategies - strategic thinking" to suggest that modern techniques can improve the consistency of approach. It is suggested that fire strategies can be formulated and evaluated in a globally consistent manner. He suggests that the whole process can be controlled online which will improve consitency, reduce wasted resource and provide a much needed audit trail.
The book includes some "soft" calculus to offer an alternative method to analyse fire risk as well as a novel method to assess actual fire strategies against a baseline version.
Dr Paul Bryant has become well known for his ideas to improve the fire strategy process. He has enjoyed a career with the fire insurance industry, London Underground and formed his own fire consultancy and engineering company - Kingfell PLC. He has written and helped write a number of British Standards covering many aspects of fire safety and protection. However, he has not just stayed with fire safety. He is an accomplished guitarist, cook, and has even spent a spell as owner of a bar in Key West, Florida. Today, he is a joint owner of the specialist fire engineering consultancy - Fire Cubed LLP. In 2021, he completed a PhD in Lodz, Poland.
